Question by : How do I deal with my niece’s mom? I’m at the point where I just want her to disappear forever. Please, help!?
Okay, this will be kinda long because the situation has been going on for a little more than 3 yrs. I’ll try to sum it up as quick as possible.
My brother got the craziest chick with the most psychotic, hilly billy family on this planet pregnant and then left her when she was 6months pregnant. She delivered the baby, kept haharassing him and his new girlfriend, and so he left the state about a year ago and we never heard from him again. He has no contact with the child, but he doesn’t deserve contact either. My brother sucks, but there’s nothing I can do about it.
The child is now two years old, and I love her behind reason. However, I hate her mother and her mother’s family. They constantly fight, bicker over facebook, a couple do drugs, and they are just psycho. The mother is pregnant with her third child in three years from three different men, and she sees no problem with it. She coconstantly talks about how she’s such a good mother, but in reality she’s not. She threw my niece against the bed frame once when her and her boyfriend fought. She constantly whines about how she’s overwhelmed with the two she’s got because her boyfriend (father of the third baby) is in jail for punching her and breaking her nose. However, she can’t wait for his release so they can be together again! Ugh…
My niece’s mom is on government assistance for everything except housing, and half the time she doesn’t pay rent. She has no job, has only worked for one day before she quit because she “didn’t like it” and lives with my niece, my niece’s half-sister, and various other people in a nasty apartment. She gets diapers and food stamps from the government, but she sells some to buy cigarettes and other various things. Then, at the end of the month when she’s out of diapers and food, she calls my mom saying, “We have no food here your grandchild is without diapers help help”. We get over there and she’s texting on her cell phone and smoking cigarettes.
I’m seriously at my wits end with this chick. We tried calling children’s services but they barely investigated at all. I know they are overstretched and underfunded, but it is so frustrating to not know where to turn. How do I handle this?
